Triangle Club's Fourth
Annual Drag Show
May 26
Campion Ballroom
Seattle University's Triangle Club held its fourth Annual Drag Show on May 26 in the Campion Ballroom of Seattle University, drawing a crowd of nearly 300 people. The show featured performances from members of the Triangle Club as well as well-known queens Sylvia O'Stayformore, Gaysha Starr, and Regina Starr. Although the event was free, donations were collected and a substantial amount of money was raised for the Triangle Club.
The event was extremely impressive in its professionalism and success for being put on by a college student group.
The highlight of the evening was a "drag makeover" of sorts where three boys and three girls were chosen from the audience and were transformed into queens and kings in a matter of minutes by Triangle Club members.
Sylvia O'Stayformore lent her talents as host, and brought Tor Middlewood along with her to share a few songs from their current show Cocktails with Sylvia and Tor, which runs every Thursday at the Orient Express Restaurant and Lounge (2963 4th Ave. S.).
The raffle, which benefited Triangle Club, offered prizes donated by Lifelong AIDS Alliance and local restaurants Julia's and Martins off Madison.
The Triangle Club is dedicated to creating and maintaining events, discussions, etc. throughout the year which focus on LGBTQA (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Questioning and Allies) issues and allow other LGBTQA students to socialize and meet with their own peers, staff, and faculty members.
